You’re a busy leader, with people depending on you. You do the best you can to look after the people who matter - students, teachers, staff, parents. But what about you? Do YOU matter? In this session, Heather Plett will talk about what it means to hold space for yourself first so that you can better hold space for the people who depend on you. We’ll explore the core needs that run beneath the surface of everything we do, and find out how ignoring those needs can hook us into unhealthy relational patterns and lead to burnout and self-destruction. We’ll learn how to better tend to those needs and protect them with healthy boundaries.

The world is a complex place, with climate change threatening us, politics dividing us, and artificial intelligence changing the way we learn, work and communicate. People are turning to you, their leader, for guidance and support in the midst of both personal and collective destabilization. In this interactive session, Heather Plett will introduce you to what it means to be a Grounded Guide, equipped for times like these. With curiosity and playfulness, we’ll explore the five pillars of Grounded Guidance: emotional maturity, relational maturity, long-sightedness, grounded collaborative leadership, and integrative systemic consciousness.
